Ive tried to catch some induction ceremonies over the years and even recorded a few of them.  Ive never loved a ton of hall of fame athletes enough to actually watch their speeches.  Im an extremely loyal fan to certain teams but I hold certain players in very high respect.  For example, I hate Derek Jeter but he can play.  I respect him, I wont watch his hall of fame speech and I still stick by the fact that if he was a Kansas City Royal we wouldnt know who he was or hed be average.  He was made to shine in New York City and has done just that over the years.  Some of my favorite speeches were by my favorite athletesWalter Payton and Ryne Sandberg.  In fact, when both gave their speeches I actually wept because of the love they clearly showed for the game they played so well.
The NBA inducted Patrick Ewing, Hakeem Olajuwon and Adrian Dantley as players and all of them deservedly so.  I grew up in Utah watching Adrian Dantley and he was a gifted and incredible scorer.  He was so good for his size it was crazy.  He was a player who had an offensive arsenal that was incredible for a player who could barely dunk.  He could post up and score and no matter what happened you were going to foul him.  I loved AD.
With Ewing and Olajuwon you had two of the greatest big men in the leagues history.  Hakeem won his rings with Houston while Patrick never got his.  It doesnt diminish what he meant to basketball in New York.  Not a lot of people came out on top against Michael Jordan.  Olajuwon had the greatest footwork of any player since Kevin McHale and wouldve probably been called for traveling 20 times in a typical college game but didnt in the NBA.  He was a shot blocking fool and had an unstoppable spinning jump shot on the baseline.  He was incredible.
But the man who made me cry this year was Dick Vitale.  I will never forget watching his speech and I was wishing he would keep talking.  I never thought Id say that because sometimes Im watching a game hes working and I want nothing more than for him to be quiet.  Dick Vitale loves basketball and is grateful for basketball and it gave him everything he has.  He made me cry.  He made me think of shooting hoops at my neighbors house in the snow outside and coming home with cold hands that were beyond dirty.  He made me ache for the days I sat next to my father and watched countless games.  It was as much as hanging out with my father as it was anything else.  Dickie V brings that to life for me and everything else.  He brings out the best that basketball has to offer to a kid growing up or a pro.  Ill watch this speech over and over and show it to my children because that passion is something I want and i want them to have.
Dick, you couldnt coach a lick and Im so glad for that because we all wouldve been missing out.

So I went to Wheaton Mall today to check out those black cement 1s that just came out yesterday and surprisingly i couldnt find a single store that sold them. Apparently they are skate shoes (stuffed tongue and inner lining) cuz people back in the late 80s use to wear 1s to skate in cuz those were the best skate shoes around (didnt they have Vans? lol). I was showing pictures of them to the people at the stores and to them it was brand new and they never heard of them. Strange.. I just wanted to see them in person cuz Im questioning that elephant print..I saw them in a 10.5 BUY NOW on eBay for $100 shipped and i didnt buy them.. I look today and they are gone lol..

I dont know what these ones are like specifically, but theres a great big one in London that has thousands of different caps adorning the walls (i know thats useless to you though). johnny gould and josh chetwynd? went to it during five mlb coverage. New Era are the official manufacturers i think.
Youll need to look up their addresses in an A to Z or multimap.com or maps.google.com. I think the last to can give you directions if you put in your postcode and the shops.

Ok, Im planning to shop around Daniel Gibson for a rebounder/shot blocker. The leagues full of seasoned veterans, so theyre not going jump at Gibson as readily as the casual player. With that saidwho do you think I can reasonably expect back in a straight up trade?

Dont know if youll get anyone as good as the guys mentioned above for Gibson.
Hes really a one dimensional player giving just 3PTM so getting a guy who rebounds and blocks shots may be hard.
Would be easier to try for Anderson Vareajo or Jeff Foster (more PT with ONeal out) even though neither blocks a lot of shots they do rebound well. Or maybe Erik Dampier if you can settle for slightly less rebounds but more blocks.

I was shopping in the store when the hoop fell on my car, denting 2 body panels and cracking the windshield. They had one of their administrative people take pictures and they filed a claim with some company they deal with. This was on Monday. Their insurance company (I think?) called me yesterday and got some more information and said they would send the claim on to a different company who would have someone come look at my car.
Should I notify my car insurance company about this, or have the Salvation Army handle everything? It is most likely going to cost over $2000 for the damages. I have full coverage insurance. I am concerned that it isnt being handled in a timely manner and they havent asked me to take my car in for an estimate at a body shop. What should I expect here?

Contact the Salvation Army and ask for the phone number and name of the adjuster who is handling the claim. Call that person up and ask them for the status on your claim. It always takes longer to handle a claim if you are going thru the other persons company. They will always investigate the claim to make sure that there is liability on their part. They arent going to call and ask you to take it to a body shop. That is your responsibility. They may be waiting on you to turn in estimates.
Call them to find out what they need.
